Berhampur: A motorcyclist was killed following a head-on collision with a pick-up van on the national highway at Berhampur in Ganjam district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Banambar Patra, a resident of Kanisi.
Irked over the incident, locals staged a blockade demanding adequate compensation to the family of the deceased and action against the driver of the van who fled the spot soon after the accident.
Police reached the spot and assured the locals of immediate steps to nab the driver of the vehicle.
