Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday rolled out the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme of the central government on a pilot basis in the areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The Khurda district administration has been directed to implement the scheme in 127 fair price shops in 67 wards of the BMC, said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain.
It will be implemented in other parts of the state in a phase-wise manner, he added.
The scheme will allow poor and migrant workers to buy subsidised rice and wheat from any ration shop in the country. However, the beneficiaries are required to link their ration cards with Aadhaar, the deadline for which has been extended till September 15.
