New Delhi: The leading heads of the Indian government have been true to their word.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had vowed to avenge the brutal murder of 26 innocent civilians at Pahalgam on April 22.
On Wednesday, after India conducted ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Home Minister was the first among the top leaders to speak elaborately about the missile strikes which targeted 9 terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
In a hard-hitting statement, Shah said that the Indian strikes in the early hours of May 7 were in retaliation to the “brutal killing of our innocent brothers” in the Pahalgam attack.
Shah said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-headed Central government is absolutely determined in giving a “befitting response to any attack” on India and its citizens.
“Proud of our armed forces. #OperationSindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” the Home Minister posted on X.

A few days ago, in his first public comments on the Pahalgam massacre, Shah issued a stern warning, and said revenge will be taken “chun chun ke (one by one)”.
“If anyone thinks that a cowardly attack is their victory, they must remember this is Narendra Modi’s India and revenge will be taken, one by one,” he had said.
External Affair Minister S Jaishankar tweeted: “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism.”
