Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for 10 districts of Odisha till 7.13 pm on Thursday.
Moderate rain along light thunder and wind speed 30-40 kmph may occur at a few places in Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghapur, Jajapur, Kalahandi, Kendrapada, Khurda, Nuapada and Rayagada in the next 2-3 hours.
Notably, the weather agency has forecast heavy to very heavy rain along with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh districts till Friday morning. Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may also occur at one or two places in Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput and Malkangiri during this period.
The state may experience heavy to very heavy rain till July 6.
