Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm activity is likely in 16 districts of Odisha till 4.30 pm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
Moderate rain along with moderate thunderstorm and wind speed 30-40 kmph may occur in Angul, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Puri and Sundargarh districts during this period.
The weather agency has issued an orange warning for these districts.
There is also a yellow warning of thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy rainfall for one or two places in Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj and Jagatsinghpur till 8.30 am on Monday.
Thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is also likely at one or two in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar and Malkangiri, according to the midday bulletin.
