Orange Warning: Severe Heatwave To Sear Khurda & 6 Other Dists In Odisha Today
Bhubaneswar: Severe heatwave will continue to torment Odisha on Friday with orange warning issued for one or two places over in Angul, Balasore, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Boudh and Nayagarh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also warned of heatwave conditions at one or two places in Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Jharsugada, Bargad, Sonpur, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Ganjam and Gajapati districts.
Hot and humid weather condition may also prevail at many places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
The orange warning continues on Saturday for a few places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack Khurda, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Angul, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Boudh and Keonjhar.Heatwave condition is also likely at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Sonepur, Balangir and Kalahandi. Hot and humid weather may persist at one or two places in Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Puri, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Ganjam and Jajpur, as well.

There is also a forecast for light to moderate rain/thundershower at one or two places oin Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Puri, Balasore, and Bhadrak.
Usually, Odisha experiences one to three heatwave days in April but this time the state has already recorded six heatwave days in the last 18 days. The heatwave condition is expected to subside after April 20 under influence of rainfall and thundershower activity, according to the weather agency.
On Thursday, they mercury had breached 43 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar, which was the hottest place in the state at 43.6 degree Celsius. Boudh was close second at 43.5 degree followed by Angul at 43.3 degree Celsius.
