Orissa HC Rejects OJEE’s Revised Merit List For MBBS & BDS Admission

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has rejected the revised merit list of candidates published by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) for admission into MBBS and BDS courses for 2022-23 academic session.

A bench comprising of Justice B R Sarangi and Justice Gourishankar Satpathy while hearing a petition filed by one Abhishek Bhabani Panda said such type of merit list is not accepted by law, according to reports.

The court held that the first merit list released on October 18 will remain effective and admission will be conducted as per the first list. The HC also directed the authorities on Thursday to conduct the admissions keeping in mind the privileges of Divyang candidates.

The bench also directed the OJEE administration to facilitate the admission of the Divyang candidate, petitioner Panda reportedly said.

The OJEE was reported to have released the merit list for admission into MBBS/BDS courses for 2022-23 academic year on October 18. The petitioner was in fifth place on the list. However, in the revised merit list declared later he was placed in 33rd place. The candidate challenged the revised list apprehending that he might not get admission in the Divyang quota.
