Bhubaneswar: Celebrated singer Soni Nigam and actor R Madhavan are likely to be conferred with Padma awards this year, sources told Odisha Bytes on Tuesday.
The names of the Padma winners are announced on the eve of Republic Day every year.
Sonu Nigam has done songs across genres and crooned in almost all Indian languages. He rose to stardom with Border, Pardes and Dil Se in 1997-1998. He also composed and wrote songs for his Indie-pop albums.
Sonu has lent his voice to almost every actor today, from Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan to Govinda, Akshay Kumar and even Amitabh Bachchan.
R Madhavan is currently shooting for Yash Raj Films’ debut web series The Railway Men. He is known for his work predominantly in Tamil and Hindi-language films, also in a few Malayalam and Kannada films. He was last seen in the Tamil movie Maara.
