Srinagar: Polie and security forces launched a massive search operation in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kathua on Friday after a woman claimed to have seen four suspected terrorists who brutally shot dead 26 people in Pahalgam three days ago.
The Special Operations Group of Jammu & Kashmir Police is carrying out a combing operation, India Today reported quoting officials.
Search and combing operations were underway in Pulwama and Baramulla also, where the banned Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) outfit is allegedly carrying out anti-India activities.
Baramulla Police conducted a search operation at the residence of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie in Pattan area on Friday, in the presence of an executive magistrate.
Incriminating material linked to the JKNF were recovered and seized.
In one of the worst terror attacks on civilians in Kashmir in several years, 26 people — all men, most of them tourists — were killed by terrorists in the Baisaran valley in the upper reaches of Pahalgam.
The Resistance Front (TRF), a terrorist group linked to Pakistani terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack.
India has taken multiple steps against Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to track down the culprits from anywhere in the earth and hand them unimaginable punishment.
