Paintings Of 16 Women Artists On Display At Exhibition In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Paintings of 16 women artists were exhibited at Rabindra Mandap in the city on Friday. The paintings, one each of the artists, depicted social issues and showcased tourist places of Odisha.

The painting exhibition, ‘Shohala Asima Kala’, dedicated to theatre artist late Asim Basu, was held at the inaugural function of the fourth ‘Asim Utsav’.

Atasi Basu Jena and Firdausi Tabassum coordinated the exhibition, organised by Asim Basu foundation.

Play ‘Sababahakamane’, written by late playwright Bijaya Mishra, was also staged by members of ‘Uttarapurusha Natyasanstha’ on the occasion.

Commissioner, Income Tax Manoranjan Panigrahi, president of Natyasangha Haren Sahu, Sanghamitra Mishra, and Banchhanidhi Patnaik were present on the occasion.

The third edition of Asim Basu’s autobiography ‘Kathare Kathare’ was released at the function.
