Bhubaneswar: The official website of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has reportedly been hacked by a group identifying itself as the ‘Pakistan Cyber Force’.
This came even as tensions escalated between India and Pakistan post Operation Sindoor conducted on May 6-7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 in which 26 civilians were killed,
Since Wednesday, the site has been down, initially showing a defaced homepage with the message: “Hacked by Pakistan Cyber Force.” It remained completely inaccessible till filing of the report.
While the reason for targeting the site is unclear, OAVS officials are yet to issue any statement on the incident.
Cyber experts have warned of growing risks to India’s digital infrastructure from foreign cyber attacks with ties between India and Pakistan touching rock bottom.
A handle on X, Pakistan Cyber Force, had earlier claimed that hackers gained access to sensitive data of the Military Engineer Services and the Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses. It also tried to deface the website of Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited, a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, the NDTV reported, quoting sources.
The X handle has since been withheld.
