New Delhi: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab’s Ferozepur on Thursday.
The Pakistan national intruder was observed crossing the IB and moving toward the border security fence under the cover of darkness. He continued to advance despite being challenged by BSF troops, which then opened fire on him, killing him on the spot, the India Today reported, quoting an official statement of the BSF.
“The body of an unknown person has been brought here by police,” Emergency Medical Officer, Ferozepur Government Hospital, Dr Manpreet Singh told ANI.
This came amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan post Operation Sindoor conducted on May 6-7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 in which 26 civilians were killed.
On Monday, a Pakistani intruder was also shot dead by BSF troops while surreptitiously crossing the international border in Punjab’s Amritsar.
