New Delhi: A pilot, who ejected from a Pakistani aircraft, was captured alive in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Thursday night, News9 reported, quoting top intelligence sources.
Earlier this evening, Indian air defence units had intercepted and shot down eight missiles and at least three fighter jets – one F-16 and two JF-17 — after Pakistan launched an all-out attack in several parts of northern and western border states. Military Stations of Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur in proximity to the international boundary, in Jammu & Kashmir were also targeted using missiles and drones.

India has maintained that any attacks on military installations will be met with appropriate countermeasures.

Complete blackout has also been enforced across multiple regions including Bikaner in Rajasthan, Jalandhar and Amritsar in Punjab, Srinagar and several areas in Jammu including Kishtwar, Poonch, Akhnoor, Samba, and Amritsar.
Meanwhile, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has instructed all airlines and airports across the country to enhance security measures. All passengers at all airports will undergo Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC). Visitor entry to terminal buildings has been banned. Air Marshal will be deployed accordingly, ANI reported, quoting sources in Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke with the Director Generals of border guarding forces to take stock of the border situation and CISF DG regarding airport security.
