Pandian Again Inspects Jagannath Temple Corridor Project In Puri; Emphasises Timely Completion

Puri: Chairman of Nabin Odisha and 5T (Transformational Initiatives), V K Pandian visited the ongoing Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor Project work in Puri and facilities being created for pilgrim’s holding space as well as the queue management in the early hours of Saturday.

During his visit, Pandian inspected all elements of Parikrama including progress on landscaping works, matha restoration, queue management system, two-wheeler parking areas between 5 am and 7 am.

He also reviewed the works for ETP, garbage chutes and façade painting and emphasised timely completion.

Pandian also inspected Shree Danda, Shree Jagannath Ballav Vihar and Shree Setu.

Pandian discussed with Puri Collector and SP, OBCC MD, regarding the progress with focus on parking and security measures.

Meanwhile, Pandian’s visit to the pilgrim town was opposed by Congress activists. He was also shown black flag by Congress members.

The protest happened soon after the Nabin Odisha chairman arrived in front of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) office.

The Congress members showed black flag to him and raised ‘Pandian go back’ slogans in front of him opposing demolition of heritage buildings in Puri in the name of Parikrama Project.

They also blamed Pandian of insulting Jagannath culture by bringing Youtuber Kamiya Jani to the Jagannath Temple.

Following the protest, Police detained several protesters, sources said.
