New Delhi: Amid the outrage in India over the Pahalgam terror attack and the government’s determination to bring the culprits to book, a video of a press conference, showing men in uniform walking out, has has been widely shared on social media.
The video has been shared by Pakistani handles with the claim that Indian Army generals walked out of a meeting, saying, “We are not capable of fighting a war against Pakistan.”
“Indian Army generals walked out of the meeting. They said ‘We are not capable of fighting a war against Pakistan. Modi still wants war, but his army isn’t capable of fighting’,” a user called Ragrey Shah posted.
India called out the bluff on Sunday, with PIB Fact Check clarifying it to be fake news.
“An old video, along with false claims about the Indian Army, is being widely shared by Pakistan-based accounts on social media platforms. The video is being shared out of context. The shared video is from an old Press Conference dated 25th March 2025,” PIB pointed out.
PIB advised users to exercise caution while sharing unverified claims circulating on social media platforms.
