Baripada: A Plus II student of BB College at Baiganabadia in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was critically injured after being allegedly stabbed on campus on Monday.
The injured student, identified as Prahalad Bindhani, was initially rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada after being stabbed by a fellow student. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where his condition is stated to be critical.
The incident triggered widespread outrage and a large number of locals and students staged protest outside the college, seeking justice for the victim. The college gate has been locked as tension prevailed in the area.
A police team visited the college and detained the accused student as part of investigation into the incident. College students and staff are being questioned in connection with the incident.
