Berhampur: Bada Bazar police busted a betting racket and nabbed five persons, including a woman, on Tuesday. The police seized Rs 44,660 cash, 59 betting chit books, three smartphones, one Nokia phone and one Hero Passion Pro MC bearing registration number MH 14 DC 2511.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted raid on a tea stall of the accused Santoshini Maharana (33) of Mathura Nagar. The other accused are K Bipra (46) of Mochi Sahi, G Balaji (38) of Khalasi Street, Koteswar Patra (73) of Balajipentha Sahi and Jitendra Das (28) of Balajipentha Gouda Sahi.
