Police Unearth Country-Made Gun Manufacturing Unit In Odisha’s Boudh

Boudh: Odisha Police unearthed an illegal country-made gun manufacturing unit in Odisha’s Boudh district and arrested one person on Monday night.

The arrested person has been identified as Shesadeb Bindhani. He was manufacturing the firearms in his house illegally for the purpose of selling them to antisocials and criminals, a police release said.

Acting on reliable information about the illegal unit, inspector A K Bhitria carried out a raid on the house of a person at Sileipada village under Manmunda police limits of the district late last night.

During the search, the police team recovered one big country-made pistol, one small country-made pistol, four country-made guns (single barrel muzzle loading), manufacturing articles, including one muzzle, five pieces of iron rod, three pieces of
Gelatin sticks, four pieces of trigger assembly, six pieces of sticker, two pieces of chakra, two pieces of nangala, three pieces of kamini, two iron plates of rifle body, three (chapa) of trigger assembly plate, one piece of spring, two pieces of angle grinder, one piece of electric drill machine, one hammer, seven pieces of iron pipe, seventeen pieces of bindhan, seven pieces (file) of renta, two pieces of iron chimtha from the house. Three gelatin sticks were also seized from Bindhani, the release added.

The accused person was arrested and produced before the court along with the seized articles. Police have launched further investigation to ascertain the involvement of other persons in transportation of the firearms and illegal trade.
