Bhubaneswar: Prof. Asima Sahu was on Tuesday appointed In-Charge Vice-Chancellor of Odisha’s Berhampur University.
The appointment has been made by Odisha Governor and Chancellor of state universities Hari Babu Kambhampati, under the provisions of Sub-section (10) of Section 6 of the Odisha Universities Act, 1989.
This will be an additional responsibility for Prof. Sahu, who was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Khallikote Unitary University last month.
Her Berhampur University responsibility will be with immediate effect and will remain in force for six months, or until a regular Vice-Chancellor assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Prof. Sahu’s academic journey has been exceptional. She graduated with top honours from Utkal University, being recognised as the Best Lady Graduate in Arts. She then pursued advanced studies at the University of Hyderabad and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
A trailblazer in political science, Prof. Sahu has over 36 years of teaching experience.
