New Delhi: Puneeth Rajkumar’s widow Ashwini shared the trailer of the actor’s last film ‘Gandhada Gudi’, addressing her tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ashwini, who has co-produced the Amoghavarsha-directed film, wrote that the Kannada actor — lovingly called Appu — would have really wished to share the trailer with the PM.
“Namaste @narendramodi. Today is an emotional day for us as we are releasing the trailer of #GandhadaGudi, a project close to Appu’s heart. Appu always cherished the interactions with you and would have loved to share with you in person,” Ashwini wrote on Twitter along with a poster of the film and link of the trailer.
‘Gandhada Gudi’ is scheduled to be released on October 28 — a day before Puneeth’s first death anniversary. The actor passed away at the age of 46 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Ashwini also shared a throwback picture featuring herself, Puneeth Rajkumar and the Prime Minister in a follow-up tweet. “Appu is not in our midst, but his life and work motivates and gives us the strength to embrace the culture of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. GG Movie celebrates cinema and also holds a mirror to the rich heritage, culture, nature, and diversity of our land,” Ashwini wrote.
Modi responded by extending his best wishes to the team of ‘Gandhada Gudi’.
“Appu lives in the hearts of millions around the world. He was brilliance personified, full of energy and blessed with unparalleled talent. Gandhada Gudi is a tribute to Mother Nature, Karnataka’s natural beauty and environmental conservation. My best wishes for this endeavour,” Modi replied to Ashwini’s tweet.
