Bhubaneswar: Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to lash most parts of Odisha till June 29, the regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.
The amount of rainfall is likely to decrease in the state from July 5 as the southwest monsoon is expected to remain weak during that period.
Meanwhile, districts like Puri, Khurda, Ganjam and Kendrapara received heavy rainfall in the last 12 hours.
Many places in Bhubaneswar including Bomikhal, Nayapalli, Old Town, Gajapati Nagar and Laxmisagar witnessed waterlogging due to heavy rainfall since last night.
Similarly, Roxy lane in Badambadi, Link Road and many other low lying areas have been submerged in water.
The district administration has made certain arrangements for release of rain water from the locality through motor pumps.
The monsoon has already covered several districts of the state including Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Nuapada, Angul, Khurda, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Balangir, Boudh and Kendrapara districts.
