Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to lash at least nine districts of Odisha over the next three hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning on Saturday.
According to the warning issued at 11 am, light rain with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Boudhagad, Kandhamala, Jharsuguda, Sundaragada, Sambalpur, Debagada and Anugola districts during the next three hours.
The weather agency has advised people to remain alert and keep a watch on weather conditions for any deterioration. People have been urged to plan outdoor activities accordingly and take precautions for their safety.
People have been advised to avoid open fields, not to take shelter under trees, and to stay away from electric poles and conductors during lightning.
