Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for 12 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 7 pm on Sunday.
Generally cloudy sky with possibility of Light rain or thunderstorm with lightning is likely at one or two places in the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Puri, Nayagarh, Deogarh, Sonepur, Malkangiri, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Cuttack (including Cuttack city) and Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) during the next 3 hours.
People have advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
In the midday bulletin, the IMD had warned of thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Nabarangpur till Monday morning.
