Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for three districts of Odisha till 2 pm on Tuesday.
Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in some parts of Kendrapada, Cuttack and Khurda districts in three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
On Monday, the weather agency had warned of thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts on Tuesday.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam and Gajapati.
Light to moderate rain may also occur in the afternoon/evening hours at many places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
