Bhubaneswar: For the convenience of passengers and demand from public, the Railways has decided to increase the frequency of Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express. Instead of six days a week, it will now run daily from Friday (December 28), East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said.
The timings and stoppages for the train will remain same.
The train was introduced as a tri-weekly Express between Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar in November, 2011 and extended till Rourkela in July 2012. It was further extended up to Gunupur in March, 2017 via Paralakhemundi, connecting important cities between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar directly with Gajapati and Rayagada districts.
In March 2019; the frequency of Rajyarani Express was increased to 6 days a week.
This train leaves Rourkela at 2120hrs and arrives at Gunupur at 1335hrs the following day. In the return direction, it leaves Gunupur at 1515hrs and reaches at Rourkela at 0800hrs on the next day.
It has stoppages at Kansbahal, Rajgangpur, Garposh, Bamra, Bagdih, Jharsuguda, Rengali, Sambalpur City, Rairakhol, Boinda, Angul, Talcher Road, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Nirakarpur, Balugaon, Chhatrapur, Brahmapur, Ichhapuram, Sompeta, Palasa, Naupada and Paralakhemundi between Rourkela and Gunupur.
