Ranbir Kapoor Summoned By ED In Online Betting App Case
Mumbai: Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on October 6 in the Mahadev online betting app case, official sources said on Wednesday.
The case pertains to a money laundering probe against the founders of the app- Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal. The ‘Animal’ actor had allegedly attended the wedding of Chandrakar in Dubai.
Apart from Ranbir, at least 15 to 20 celebrities, including Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Azgar, Vishal Dadlani, Tiger Shroff, Neha Kakkar, Elli Avram, Bharti Singh, Sunny Leone, Bhagyashree, Pulkit Samrat, Kirti Khabanda, Nushrat Bharucha, Krushna Abhishek, are under ED scanner for attending wedding and success party of the app’s promoter in the UAE.
Earlier, the ED had conducted raids in several cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Bhopal in connection with the promoters’ alleged money laundering networks. The central agency had also frozen and seized assets worth Rs 417 crore.
The ED investigation had revealed that Mahadev Online Book App, which has its central head office in the UAE, operates by franchising “Panel/Branches” to their known associates on 70-30 per cent profit ratio.
