Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha surpassed 50,000 on Wednesday with a record 1876 new positive cases.

All 30 districts in the state have reported new infections with the highest of 32,053 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 50672.

The I & PR department tweeted that 1182 new cases have been reported from different quarantine centres while the remaining 694 are local contacts. 

Among them, Khurda registered the highest of 297 cases followed by Ganjam (260) and Sundargarh (119).
