Record Holder Artist Draws Kali In Speed-Reverse Painting Fusion In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A national record holder in speed painting from Odisha’s Puri successfully attempted another format – reverse painting – on Monday.

On the occasion of Diwali, artist Ayush Mohapatra tried his skill in reverse painting and drew an image of Goddess Kali on canvas with oil colours. He completed drawing the image in 7.30 minute on a 5 ft canvas.

“Since I have set national in speed painting, I tried a different occasion on the pious occasion. In order to challenge my skills, I attempted a fusion of speed painting and reverse painting. While I used both my hands for speed, I focused on the symmetry and precision of strokes for reverse painting,” said Ayush.

“With a prayer for Goddess Kali playing in the background, I started the painting. I synchronised the speed of painting with the progress of prayer and completed the task with the end of the prayer,” he added.

Ayush has already entered his name in India Book of Records and Nigeria Got Talent competition. He hoped to set a record in reverse painting by finetuning his skills and with more practice in future.
