Recoveries Almost Double Of New Cases In Bhubaneswar; COVID-19 Tally Crosses 4000

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally touched 4062 in Odisha capital on Monday with 133 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours.

Another 200 patients have also been cured of the infection in the city, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) tweeted.

Of the 133 new cases, 96 are those in quarantine while 37 are local contacts.

Barring two with travel history to Delhi and Mumbai, all quarantine cases are contacts of previous patients.

One more employee of the flour mill at Mancheswar, which had once turned a COVID-19 hotbed, has tested positive for the virus. Two employees of government hospitals and two of a private hospital have also contracted the infection.

Among the local contact cases, three each have been reported from Jharpada and Dumdama.

“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined and sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the BMC tweeted.

The recoveries include 10 from Salia Sahi, nine police staff and seven each from Aiginia, Bayababa Basti and IRC Village, Nayapalli.

With 20 deaths and 2673 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1367 active cases.
