Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Railways has approved the regular service of Brahmapur– Surat (Udhna)-Brahmapur Amrit Bharat Express, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) informed on Friday.
19021 Surat (Udhna) -Brahmapur- Amrit Bharat weekly Express will depart from Udhna on October 5 at 7:10 am and arrive in Brahmapur (also known as Berhampur) at 1:55 pm the following day. In return journey, 19022 Brahmapur -Surat (Udhna) Amrit Bharat weekly Express will depart from Brahmapur on October 6 at 11.45 pm and reach Udhna at 8.45 the next day. The train will halt at major stations, including Palasa, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusaval and Nandurbar.
Other stoppages (both directions) are as follow:
Srikakulam, Bobbili, Parvatipuram, Sungarpur road, Muniguda, Kesinga, Kantabanji, Khariar Road, Mahasamund, Lakholi, Durg, Gondia, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Jalgaon, Dharangaon, Amalner, Sindkheda, Dondaicha, Navapur, Vyara and Bardoli.
The service will be available from Udhna every Sunday and from Berhampur every Monday.
This new train services is expected to boost the economical and industrial mobility by connecting mineral, textile and trade hubs, supporting business and workforce movement. It will also benefit thousands of passengers by providing a safe, comfortable, and faster travel option, strengthening rail connectivity between western and eastern India.
“The Amrit Bharat Express is a significant step towards strengthening long-distance rail connectivity. With its modern design, affordable fares and LHB coaches, this service will particularly benefit middle-class passengers who depend on economical travel while contributing to regional growth and people-centric development,” the ECoR added.
