New Delhi: Jaspreet Singh, the man who allegedly climbed one of the tombs of Red Fort during the tractor rally by protesting farmers on Republic Day, has been arrested by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch.
Police said on Monday the 29-year-old Jaspreet is an associate of Maninder Singh, who was nabbed last week for allegedly swinging swords with the intent of “motivating” and “energising” the protesters at Red Fort, PTI reported.
Hordes of protesters – demanding the withdrawal of the contentious farm laws — clashed with the police on January 26, while one group stormed the Red Fort and unfurled a religious flag.
Around 300 police persons as well as CRPF personnel were injured, and scores of vehicles were damaged.
Police had earlier arrested actor Deep Sidhu and others in connection with the violence.
