Restrictions On Boita Badana In Bhubaneswar To Continue For 2nd Year; Check Details
Bhubaneswar: Bindusagar Lake, river ghat and other water bodies in the Odisha capital will again wear a deserted look on Kartik Purnima with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) banning sail of miniature boats and religious congregations during the festival.
Devotees also cannot visit temples during the function, the order said.
Congregation of ‘Kartika Brata Habishayalis’ in temples during the month of Kartika is prohibited as well.
Religious procession of any kind or musical or entertainment programme by either public, group, club or puja committee has also been banned during Laxmi Puja and Kali Puja.
The committees have been asked to strictly follow all restrictions with regards to idol size ( not more than 4 ft) and mandap (covered from all sides). No immersion procession will be allowed. If required the idols will be immersed in artificial ponds created by the BMC.
The puja committees have been asked to inform their members to keep permission and individual COVID vaccination certificate handy during an inspection by enforcement agencies, the order added.
Last year too, congregations at water bodies in Bhubaneswar were prohibited due to the pandemic.
