Mumbai: The audience is showering its blessings on Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’ from the first day of its release.
Several videos from theatres, showing fans crying and cheering after watching the film, have been doing the rounds on social media.
In one of the viral videos, a man is seen watching the film with an IV drip on his hand. In another video, a man breaks down in the movie theatre.
Another video, in which a girl is seen crying inconsolably after watching the movie, has sparked an online debate, with netizens wondering if these theatre videos are paid or genuine.
A Reddit user shared the clip and wrote, “Found this… I’m seriously concerned…is it a paid pr or are people expressing these… genuinely?”
“It’s real, but the trend started by PR I guess,” one user commented.
Another wrote, “Such videos are surely a PR game.
A section of Reddit users even speculated that these fans must have got free movie tickets for recording such videos. He also observed that if it’s not a PR strategy, then the mental health of the country should be taken seriously.
“Who’s recording their video? Why is it out on social media and gets viral instantly? How meme pages are getting all these videos themselves? Obviously, the answer is PR! They must’ve started it, now audiences are just going along with the bandwagon. If this is not the case, we seriously need to take mental health of this country seriously!” the user wrote.

‘Saiyaara’ has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2025, having reportedly minted over Rs 190 crore at the box office in just a week.
In an interview with Just Too Filmy, ‘Saiyaara’ director Mohit Suri had shared that silent marketing was the strategy which he and the producers, Akshaye Widhani and Aditya Chopra, followed.
“Until the two actors don’t have anything behind them to talk about, the conversation will be filled with questions like ‘Who is the prankster on set?’ or ‘How is it working with Mohit Suri?’ It’s all redundant stuff,” he said.
