Bhubaneswar: SAI International School’s annual mega fest ‘UNWIND 2019’ here on Sunday saw some colourful performances, games and rides and delectable food.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Advisor, Chief Minister’s Office, R Balakrishnan and Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of School and Mass Education, Chithra Arumugam in presence of SAI International Education Group Founder and Advisor, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Vice Chairperson of SAI International Education Group Dr Silpi Sahoo and Senior Principal of SAI International School Nilakantha Panigrahi.
Addressing the gathering, R Balakrishnan said that education system should have room for the needs and aspirations of each child and advised the students to walk the extra mile to reach excellence in life and not be contented with success.
Chithra Arumugam, who was the Guest of Honour, advised the students to have the courage to be true to their own self and stay connected with their inner self.
Speaking about the event, she said that ‘Learn’ stands for constructing knowledge to communicate, ‘Lead’ indicates to go and shine wherever one is and ‘Serve’ means giving back to the world, which is the best part of a person.
Outlining the objective of “UNWIND”, Dr Sahoo said that it gives the students an opportunity to learn through an event, which instilsl in them the essential qualities of a leader, helping them beyond their school years.
The event was attended by more than 25,000 people, including students and their parents. ‘The Holistic Parenting Award’ was presented to the parents of State Topper, Commerce, Khusi Gupta. The winners of Business Model Competition 2019 were also awarded on the occasion.
The guests got to enjoy many exciting games and rides, a wide array of cuisines and lively musical at the event.
As part of the Social Connect Activities, students of Swami Bichitrananda Kalyan Ashram, Cuttack, an old orphanage, attended the event along with their teachers. They gave a dance performance and also enjoyed playing various games.
The SAI International School organises the mega fest every year to foster unity and brotherhood, develop compassion, infuse traits of a future leader in the students and also to let them enjoy a day of fun activities.
