“Say Something The Right Thing,” Urges Actress Sayani Gupta Calling Out SRK
Mumbai: Actress Sayani Gupta on Saturday called out Shahrukh Khan for not standing up for the right issues and his silence on the Hathras and Balrampur rape cases.
On Friday, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, actor Shahrukh Khan wrote, “If this Gandhi Jayanti there is One ideal we would like our children to follow, in good times, bad times and all the time….it should be Hear no bad…see no bad….speak no bad! Remembering the value of truth on Gandhiji’s 151st Birth Anniversary (sic).”
However, he is yet to comment on the death of the 19-year-old Dalit girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras after an alleged gang rape. Actress Sayani Gupta who rose to fame with ‘Four More Shots Please’ called out SRK saying, “Don’t just shut your ears and eyes and mouth,” she wrote and urged him to speak up “for our Dalit brothers and sisters”.

Several celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra, Ayushmann Khurrana, Diya Mirza, Richa Chadha condemned the horrifying crime on social media. Actress Swara Bhasker even joined the protest at Jantar Mantar on the evening of Gandhi Jayanti.
