Bhubaneswar: The second Patha Utsav of 2026 at Bhubaneswar transformed the Jagamara are into a vibrant cultural hub on Sunday, with music, dance, games, and community spirit drawing hundreds of residents despite the winter chill.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) hosted the second edition of Patha Utsav 2026 along the Baramunda–Jagamara New Road, continuing the city’s beloved tradition of turning streets into open-air cultural arenas. The event began early in the morning, with traffic halted until 11 am to allow residents to enjoy a car-free, festive atmosphere.
The event featured performances by renowned singers, interactive zones for children, and a renewed focus on inclusivity and local heritage. The event featured captivating performances by playback singers Diptirekha Padhi and Jayashree Dhal, who drew large crowds of music enthusiasts. Dance troupes and local artists showcased Odia folk traditions alongside modern styles, while fashion shows and Zumba sessions added a mix of glamour and fitness to the morning.
Families and children found plenty of activities to enjoy in the dedicated kids’ zone. Face painting, skating, traditional games, and mehendi stalls kept youngsters engaged, while art and craft booths, rangoli displays, and karate demonstrations encouraged creativity and participation. Yoga and wellness corners also promoted healthy living among attendees.
Mayor Sulochana Das, along with members of the Cultural Standing Committee and senior BMC officials, oversaw the event’s smooth execution. Volunteers and organizers ensured that this edition built on the success of the first Patha Utsav held earlier in January at Janpath.
