Security Tightened For Monsoon Session Of Odisha Assembly
Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly beginning on Tuesday.
The Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty took a round of the State Assembly to review the security arrangements on Sunday afternoon.
Talking to mediapersons, he said 32 platoons of the armed police force and two platoons of the Special Operation Group (SOG) have been deployed in and around the State Assembly. While roof-top security arrangements on the Assembly building have been made, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) have been deployed at sensitive locations. To keep a watch on the entry of any suspicious elements, plain-clothed Special Branch officers have been deployed inside the Assembly premises.
“Apart from this, five senior police officers of the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) and 50 Inspectors will monitor the security arrangements,” Mohanty added.
Since several associations from different categories will stage a dharna near the Lower PMG Square, police will keep a close watch on their activities, he pointed out.
