Servitors Of Taratarini Temple In Odisha Attack Two With Sword

Berhampur: Two servitors of Taratarini Temple on the banks of the Rushikulya near Berhampur city allegedly attacked two persons with sword, critically injuring them.

According to sources, there was an altercation between the servitors,  Rushi and Rajendra, and one Rahul Pradhan over Rs 5,000 ‘dakshina’ which the former demanded for performing ‘puja’ of his new car.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, took a violent turn when they chased him with a sword. One Sudam Maharana, who tried to intervene, also sustained injuries.

The victims were initially admitted to Purushottampur hospital and later shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.

Police have detained the accused for questioning.
