Sambalpur/Rourkela: The six-day Western Odisha bandh call given by the Central Committee of the Western Odisha Lawyers’ Association demanding a permanent High Court bench began in the morning on Monday.
As informed by the office-bearers of the Western Odisha Lawyers’ Association, the bandh will continue till February 24. During the period, all courts in Western Odisha districts except Balangir would remain closed.
Besides, all Central and State Government offices, Insurance offices and banks would remain closed during the bandh.
However, the Association said all educational institutions, trading establishments and health services have been excluded from the bandh purview.
This apart, vehicular movement would continue as usual, they said.
