Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Tuesday announced that it was all prepared for Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His siblings on Wednesday.
Speaking to mediapersons, Chief Administrator of SJTA Krishan Kumar said the three chariots will be pulled without participation of the devotees amid regulations of COVID-19. Keeping the hot and humid weather in view, Fire personnel will spray water on the entire stretch of Bada Danda (Grand Rod) while Public Health department will ensure adequate water supply.
Besides, bhajans will be played along the Grand Road during the Bahuda Yatra. Krishan Kumar also said all the sevayats (servitors) who will participate in the Yatra have tested negative for the coronavirus.
“Like Gundicha Yatra, only servitors with the help of police personnel will pull the chariots of the Lords. Jagannath temple, Gundicha temple and chariots will be decked up with flower decoration,” Kumar said.
All the entry and exit points of Puri town have been sealed to prevent movement of people and vehicles while a three-tier security arrangement has been put in place.
Meanwhile, the rituals were going on in Gundicha temple as per schedule. The evening puja of the Lords was performed without participation of the devotees as per the COVID-19 guidelines.
Kumar appealed to the people of the Temple Town not to come out of their houses during the Bahuda Yatra and watch its telecast on their TV sets.
