Skyking Fraud: Commissionerate Police Take Akash Pathak On Remand

Bhubaneswar: The Commissinerate Police on Thursday took Akash Pathak, son of the suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak, on a four-day remand for interrogation in the alleged Skyking Tours & Travels fraud case.

Informing mediapersons, Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash said the interrogation of Akash is underway by a three-member special team, comprising Additional DCP, ACP and the IIC of Kharavela Nagar police station.

The Commissionerate Police took up the case after Skyking managing partner Prabhas Kumar Choudhary had lodged a complaint in the Kharavela Nagar police station that Akash, impersonating himself as managing director of Tata Motors Limited, sent emails to the agency and submitted forged documents to book charter flights and hotels worth Rs 2.78 crore since June this year. Though he paid Rs 2.13 crore, he refused to clear the remaining dues of Rs 65 lakh.

The State Vigilance had arrested the IFS officer and his son on November 27.
