Sleazy Calls, Chats For ‘Sextortion’ New Tricks Of Cyber Frauds, Stay Away, Odisha Police Warn People
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police have warned people to avoid sleazy video chats with strangers on social media platforms, warning that cyber criminals were recording such chats for “sextortion” or blackmail.
In a tweet, the police warned that cyber frauds, including women, were targeting potential victims by making video calls from fake accounts. The police advised people not to answer such calls.
The police warned that cyber frauds record these videos or chats and use them to blackmail victims or for “sextortion”.
The police, which said that victims usually do not report such incidents fearing humiliation, assured all possible help to the victims.
