Bhubaneswar: Dr Subrat Kumar Senapati, an Associate Professor at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be Univerity (SOA) in Bhubaneswar who has been chosen for the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for 2025, was felicitated by SOA Founder President Prof Manojranjan Nayak on Thursday.
Senapati, who works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Horticulture at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), SOA’s faculty of agricultural sciences, was nominated for his collection of short stories titled ‘Kadambabana’.
Prof Nayak expressed his happiness at Senapati’s achievement while wishing him greater literary success in the future.
This award had brought glory to the university, he said.
Senapati said the accolades received from the university would encourage him in his literary pursuit.
Senapati, who focuses on the lives of transgenders in his writings, said he endeavoured to unravel their sorrows and joys before the world through his work.
Prof Pradipta Kumar Nanda, SOA’s Vice-Chancellor and Prof Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean, IAS, were present.
