Bhubaneswar: Scientists from several higher education institutions in India and abroad, industry experts and government officials attended a workshop on ‘Quantum Science for Quantum Technology’ at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) on Friday.
The workshop, organised in association with Atal Incubation Centre-SOA Foundation, SOA-CII and Department of Telecom, was aimed at advancing Odisha as a Quantum hub aligning with the objective of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
The day-long brainstorming session focused on Quantum Communication, Quantum Sensor and Quantum Algorithms.
DRDO scientist Dr Basudeb Mishra, Department of Telecommunications’ Deputy Director General Subrat Kumar Prusty, Institute of Technical Education & Research (ITER) Quantum Science and Quantum Technology Director Prof. Prasanta Panigrahi, NISER Bhubaneswar’s Tapan Mishra, Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology’s (Bhubaneswar) Bikash Kumar Jena, Sushant Kumar Tripathy of Berhampur, ITER Physics Department’s Dilip Mishra and Professor Virginia State University and Visiting Professor at SOA Prof. Chandan Samantaray were among the participants.
AIC-SOA Foundation Director Prof. Manas Kumar Mallick inaugurated the event.
Researchers from SOA, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Madras, IMMT, NISER, IISER Pune, Institute of Physics Bhubaneswar, CV Raman Global University Bhubaneswar, Utkal University, Berhampur University and KIIT University attended the programme.
