Mumbai: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha’s inter-religion marriage to longtime beau Zaheer Iqbal had created a flutter on social media.
While Sonakshi’s fans were happy for her, some others believed that their marriage will soon fall apart due to differences in their faith.
Amid this discussion and debate, the couple, who tied the knot on June 23 last year, is still head over heels in love with each other.
The couple, who earlier worked in ‘Double XL’, recently expressed the desire to work together in another film and play villains, not lovebirds.
Talking about their wish to work in another film, Zaheer said, “Sonakshi and I should both play negative roles.”
Sonakshi added, “Yes, the two of us as villains pitted against everyone.”
Expressing his admiration for Sonakshi’s negative role in ‘Heeramandi’, Zaheer said, “I love seeing Sonakshi in negative roles, especially in a series like Heeramandi. I think she looks damn cool. Also, she has an eye for those characters. In real life, though, I can’t be serious with her. If she looks at me angrily, I break into laughter.”
Sonakshi is glad that filmmakers are giving her a chance to explore different characters.
“I am glad that directors have started thinking out of the box in terms of presenting me as an actor, and I am grateful for that. As a creative person, I go for stories, roles and ideas that really stir something in me,” she told Bombay Times.
Sonakshi made her acting debut with Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ in 2010.
She has shown her versatile acting skills in films like ‘Lootera’, ‘Akira’, ‘Ittefaq’, as well as web series ‘Dahaad’ and ‘Heeramandi.’
