Soumendra Patnaik assumes charge as Utkal’s new VC

Bhubaneswar: Soumendra Mohan Patnaik, who was appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Utkal University, assumed office on Monday.
He was extended a warm welcome by the employees and teaching staff of the university.
Patnaik, who was an Anthropology Professor in Delhi University, is also the chairperson of managing committee of International Students’ House for Women (DU). He is also the current president of Indian Anthropology Association.
A notification regarding Patnaik’s appointment was issued by the office of Governor and Chancellor of State Universities Dr SC Jamir earlier on July 17.
