Seoul: Even as speculation mounts over the health of North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong Un, South Korea reiterated that he is “alive and well.”
“Our government position is firm,” Moon Chung-in, foreign policy adviser to the South Korean President, told CNN. “Kim Jong Un is alive and well. He has been staying in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been detected.”
Questions have been raised since he underwent a surgery and reports surfaced that he was in ‘grave danger’. Kim Jong missed the his grandfather’s birthday celebrations on April 15, four days after attending a politburo meeting, according to North Korean state media.
Last weekend, ‘funeral’ images of Kim Jong went viral. Then also, South Korea had butted in to say those were photoshopped images from Kim Jong’s father’s death.
