Student Files Police Complaint For Ragging In Bhubaneswar College
Bhubaneswar: In another ragging incident in Odisha, a student of a hotel management college in Bhubaneswar has lodged a police complaint against his seniors.
As per the complaint filed at Saheed Nagar police station in the city, some 3rd year students of the college staying in hostel called four junior students to a room at around 11.30 pm on Saturday and started ragging them.
The seniors not only assaulted the juniors with iron rods but also warned them of dire consequences, if they complained to the college authorities. Two junior students sustained injuries in their ears and were admitted to Capital Hospital.
One of the injured students filed the complaint at Saheed Nagar police station on Sunday while their families took up the matter with Bhubaneswar DCP. Taking a serious note of the alleged ragging, police have started investigation.
It may be noted that Sri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital in Puri had lodged a police complaint after a first year MBBS student alleged that some seniors had forcibly shaved off his beard and misbehaved with him during ragging in August.
