Mumbai: Amid trolling and criticism for being a ‘frame to frame’ copy of Spanish film ‘Champions’, Indian educator, author, and philanthropist, Sudha Murty called Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ an eye opener.
After watching the film at a special screening, Sudha shared that the film can bring about a major change in the way our society perceives specially-abled children.
In a video clip shared by Aamir Khan Productions on Instagram, Sudha says, “It’s an eye-opener, I feel. Because many people don’t understand such children whom we call ‘not normal’. But this is very beautiful movie where you understand that they are very sensitive, they have a pure heart, and they always smile because they are so pure in their approach to life.”
She added, “These are very great lessons. Highly philosophical lessons to learn from these people. The movie is inclusive of these people, and they have their own kingdom of mind and work. This movie can bring a lot of change. We should include them in our normal system and try to rehabilitate them in a normal way. Thank you very much for such a great opportunity to see a great movie by Aamir Khan.”

Directed by RS Prasanna, the film is a sequel to ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
Besides Aamir and Genelia Deshmukh, the film also features Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar in key roles.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is slated to hit theatres on June 20.
