I asked my mother,
“Can one separate one’s body from one’s mind?”
She laughed and said,
“Don’t be silly. It isn’t possible.
For me, my child,
You are my body, and you are my mind.”
I asked the Master,
The wise man with his long grey moustache, beard and hair,
“Can one separate one’s body from one’s mind?”
He replied with a broad smile,
“Yes, you can.
You need to master the art of connecting them first, and
Many years will pass,
Before you may succeed,
With rigour and drill.”
On a budget flight to a war-torn land
I asked a co-passenger,
“Can one separate one’s body from one’s mind?”
Caressing her curly blond hair,
She said,
“Yes, it is easy,
When you lend your body for a living.
